This club is for anyone! If you are a beginner at coding, created numerous projects, or are somewhere in between, there’s always something to learn in the world of coding. You are required to complete a Scratch-Tac-Toe activity before joining the club just to get the basics of how Scratch works.
Europe/Asia Meetup: Thursday at 11.00am GMT America Meetup: Wednesdays at 5.00pm PST
Provide students the opportunity to use Blockly code to create programs in Scratch. Students will use their creativity to solve problems, collaborate with peers, and design programs such as games, stories, presentations, and much more.
About the Club Teacher
My name is Elia and I’m from a cold part of Canada. I moved to Taiwan, which is much warmer, to gain one or two years of teaching experience, however, I never left! It’s been nearly ten years and I’ve had experience teaching students of all ages.
A few years ago, coding piqued my curiosity and I have been addicted to it ever since. I currently enjoy teaching private coding and robotics lessons in my own classroom and it is rewarding to see how much the kids enjoy the class.
I am a very passionate teacher and love to help students think critically to solve problems. I believe that Scratch helps introduce students to the incredible world of coding. I will help students be creative to design their own projects and the avenues to share them with others.
How much coding experience do you have? What programs or websites have you used?
We will meet for an hour of live classes every week where you will have time to work on and present your projects. Some projects can take a lot of time to complete, so be prepared to enjoy coding on your own time. Trust me, it doesn’t feel like homework!
